ABOUT US

We are an independent medical company that provides medico-legal reports directly for claimants, Medical Reporting Organisations and also for Solicitors.

All medical reports are prepared by Dr Arun Bagga who is a Chief Medical Officer, General Practitioner, and Medico-Legal Expert.

Reports can be related to a variety of Soft tissue pathology including Personal Injury, Occupational injury, Whiplash and Sports injuries.

With over 15 years experience, Dr Bagga and his team are committed to delivering excellence with a patient centred service. We pride ourselves on our personal approach and try to be as accommodating and flexible as possible.

Dr Bagga has an administrative team who are well experienced in dealing with patients, medico-legal clients, Medical Reporting Organisations, and all other referring parties.

ABOUT ME- DR ARUN BAGGA

I qualified from Southampton Medical School in 1993 and went on to compete General Practice training in 1998. I have a special interest in soft tissue injuries and gastrointestinal disturbance.

I have been working as a medico legal expert, preparing medico-legal reports since 2005, and have developed a good reputation as an expert for my customer and client service. I ensure that every report, assessment and opinions are thorough and comprehensive. I have a proven track record of providing detailed and helpful reports as well as successfully standing and delivering expert testimony as a witness in courts

 

I am also a Chief Medical Officer, training GP’s to write medical reports to the highest standard and assists with ongoing audits for numerous Medical Reporting Organisation’s, to improve their standards.

OTHER ROLES

During the course of my career, I have given my time to volunteer in numerous charity roles.

 

This includes initially working with The Samaritans as a listening volunteer, and progressing to hold the role of Deputy Director of The Samaritans.

Similarly, I also worked as a volunteer for the British Heart Foundation, which would include speaking at school assemblies working in education, speaking about the importance of healthy eating and living. I subsequently progressed to take on the senior role of a British Heart Foundation Ambassador.

 

One of my proudest achievements has been the formal recognition of my charity roles when I was awarded the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ in the South of England.

 

THE CONSULTATION
 

BEFORE THE CONSULTATION...

The process of medico-legal reporting can seem stressful, overwhelming and daunting for claimants, and we will be receptive and responsive to claimants’ requirements and concerns. This includes being flexible with appointments; claimants will inevitably have different working patterns, and therefore a degree of flexibility will be exercised when making an appointment with Dr Bagga. 

You will receive a letter confirming the appointment date, time and location sent by post, with details of how to confirm, or how to cancel or change the day or time. You may also receive this information by email and/or text message, depending on your preference.

Please bring two forms of identification, one of which is photographic. A passport or photo driving licence would be acceptable. Non-photographic identification would include utility bills, bank/credit card statements, council tax bills and birth certificates.

If you require help with your English, you may wish to bring with you a suitable adult friend or family member who is able to translate. If you need a formal interpreter, then please let the office know as soon as possible so that suitable arrangements can be made.

The actual appointment will normally last around fifteen to twenty minutes. It would be helpful if you could attend about 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. It would be preferable if you could either attend alone or with just one accompanying adult if necessary, to keep waiting room numbers down.

As part of the assessment a physical examination of the injured area will generally be necessary, so please do wear appropriate clothing. You may wish to be accompanied by an adult friend or family. Medical Reporting requires the declaration of the name of the accompanying adult to be documented within the medical report. Should you require a chaperone for examination, this will be accommodated, and advance notice of this requirement would be very helpful. If you have any special requirements at all such as disabled access or an interpreter or anything else, it would be most helpful if the administration team could be informed in advance.

AT THE CONSULTATION...

The examination will last about 15 minutes. During this time you will be asked for any previous history of similar symptoms/ accidents, the progression of your current symptoms and associated treatment. You will also be asked in some detail if your symptoms have affected your ability to work, carry out your usual daily domestic tasks or had any effect on your usual leisure activities or sleep. Please be prepared for this line of questioning.

Dr Bagga will discuss with you the report and the opinions that he intends to express while you are in the examination. This is to ensure openness and transparency, but also an opportunity for you to express any issues that are important to you.

The report that is prepared is intended to be independent and prepared in a format that is suitable for presentation to the Court, if necessary. 

AFTER THE CONSULTATION...

Once you have had sight of the completed report you may feel that amendments are necessary. If this is the case, then please do communicate that to the office team and Dr Bagga will do all that he is able to resolve any factual amendment requests and ensure that the final report is accurate.

It is possible that you may be recommended some form of further treatment such as physiotherapy or counselling. It may also be recommended that a further report is obtained from a specialist if the reported injury is particularly complex or if Dr Bagga feels unable to offer an opinion or a prognosis for that injury. This is not a common occurrence but should be considered as a possibility.

Medical records are not normally required, but on occasions may be helpful. If this is the case, then Dr Bagga may request your permission to obtain your medical records.
